This is the eighth book in the A Bakeshop Mystery series by Ellie Alexander.
Jules and the town of Ashland have a secret. They are planning a huge affair… the wedding between Jules’s mom and the professor. At the same time, Lance has reconnected with his father and when he turns up dead, he suspects his brother. Apparently, Lance’s family is super rich and the family fortune is now something the heirs will fight over. He knows Jules is busy with her mom’s wedding plans but he wants her to help him solve his father’s murder.
Definitely a lot going on here. Between keeping the wedding secret, moving the bakery into the basement and helping Lance, I am not sure how Jules made it through this with her brain in tact. There are times when I thought Lance was pretty selfish but that is true to his personality. I thought this book was well plotted and the community was so rich and full.
If you have read any of these books, you know they just keep getting better and better over time.
If you like cozy mysteries, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.
