Synopsis:

Ex-New Yorker and local diner owner Gia Morelli is still getting used to the sweltering Florida sun. But this summer she'll have to deal with a more dangerous kind of heat--when she's hot on the trail of another murderer . . .

Summer in Boggy Creek has arrived, and Gia's best friend, successful real estate agent Savannah, is getting hitched. Now she's enlisted Gia's sleuthing talents in a desperate search for the perfect wedding dress. But when Savannah mysteriously vanishes after showing a mansion to a bigwig client, Gia investigates the house Savannah was trying to sell. The first clue she finds is Savannah's car in the driveway. Inside the house, they stumble on Savannah's potential buyer--dead. Someone had apparently closed the deal--with a two by four full of nails to the client's head. Soon afterward, a woman's body is fished from the lake near the same house. The townsfolk are now sweating bullets over the murders, and the heat comes down on poor Gia to find her missing friend, and track down the killer . .

4.5 stars

This is the fifth book in the All-Day Breakfast Cafe mystery series by Lena Gregory. She also has a very popular Bay Island Psychic mystery series that is awesome too.

This book starts off with a bang as Gia is frantically searching for her missing friend, Savannah who is a successful real estate agent in town.  Come to find out the person she was showing a house to ends up dead, then she is found alive behind Gia’s cafe but had given a sleeping agent.

The family and friend aspect of this book is what makes it amazing, They are all looking out for each other and there is quite a big group of them. Cole and Willow work with Gia and are quite eager to help her out when the detective aspect of her mind needs to go out and search for clues.  Hunt and Leo work for the police department and seem okay with her sleuthing too which is unusual for a cozy mystery. The secondary storyline revolves around Savannah/Leo and their upcoming nuptials.

The entire book is just good. You get sucked in immediately as Gia freaks out about her missing friend. And the craziness never stops. It is quite a page turner. The mystery is compelling and the whodunit is hard to figure out. I think the best part is the community and friendships in here. It gives you all the feels.

Loved so much about it. If you like cozy mysteries, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title. Opinions are completely my own.
