Synopsis:
A whole new series from the world of the Echo Trilogy.
Three years ago, the gods abandoned us. We've been alone ever since.
Kat Dubois is immortal, and she’s retired. She’s long since hung up her sword and left assassinating immortals to someone else... anyone else. She’s now a hard drinking, sass-flinging Seattle tattoo artist with the innate ability to read people’s fortunes using her charmed deck of tarot cards. Her days of bloodshed are over, and she has nothing but time — an eternity, in fact — to hide from her past.
Until someone from her past shows up on her doorstep with news that her beloved older brother and mentor, Dominic, has gone missing. Kat may be the only person with the right skills — and access to the right magic — to track him down. She must confront her past if she’s to have any chance of finding and saving her brother. She must fight her demons. She must embrace the power within her.
She must become the Ink Witch.

This is the first book in the Kat Dubois Chronicles series by Lindsey Fairleigh.
This series is right up my alley. It has a very cool tarot deck that morphs and changes due to Kat’s moods and circumstances. Kat has this curious power that helps her to read people from them touching the ink on the deck and not just her reading the cards themselves.
Kat has to use her whiles and skills to locate her brother Dominic and when she runs into an old friend and asks for her assistance, she realizes that maybe their friendship had been long dead and buried.
There are scenes with the police that make you wonder about what Kat’s connection with the police detective, Garth, will be in the future. I enjoy the chemistry they have together. The detective is the one who draws Kat more into her mission to find her brother. Somehow all these missing kids are linked to her brother’s disappearance.
I love all these new terms the author has made up like the ba is the soul essence of the immortal and Nik is very good at controlling At which is a mystical element.
I am excited to continue reading in this series. I think I am definitely hooked on the Ink Witch.
Loved so much about it. If you like a paranormal mystery, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.
