4.5 Stars

This is the seventh book in the Colton’s  of Roaring Springs series by Geri Krotow.

I am pretty sure this is the book that many other books in the Colton’s series is referring back to. This is the book where Skye goes missing. And of course, it is not resolved in this book since it seems to be a plot point for a completely different Colton series (Mustang Valley) and many of those books refer back to Skye’s disappearance in some way. Looking forward to the book where Skye is recovered, that should be a mega good one1

Basically, this is about Phoebe who is mistaken for her more gregarious sister, Skye and is forced to pose as her for the sake of her parent’s resort business. A previous book brought in the Avalanche Killer, and their business is still reeling from that fallout. Prescott Reynolds, a mega movie star, is at the resort for the film festival which is put on by the Colton resort. Since Skye is the face of the resort, Phoebe has her hands full with her masquerade. But when she catches the eye of Prescott, she has gained the disdain of Prescott’s previous girlfriend who is now willing to kill to get her man back.

I thought this book was thrilling and having two supposed “killers” lurking in the shadows ramped up the suspense. However, having such a convoluted plot didn’t distract from the success of this book. It was easy to navigate the backstory since we were given just enough to have it all make complete sense.

The only thing I think I needed in this was more motivation behind the antagonist. I wasn’t exactly believing someone would kill to get their boyfriend back. But I guess most normal people would know that you aren’t going to gain someone’s trust by killing the person they love.

Great book. Looking forward to more Colton stories in my future!

If you love a good romantic suspense, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.
