BOOK REVIEW: Mother's Day Mayhem by Lynn Cahoon

Mother's Day Mayhem

Kindle Edition, 75 pages
Published April 2nd 2019 by Lyrical Press

Goodreads synopsis:
Picturesque South Cove, California, is the perfect place to celebrate Mother’s Day, but not everyone is feeling motherly...

Jill Gardner, owner of Coffee, Books, and More is almost out of Mother’s Day cards. She has a few more in stock, but she’s set them aside because she needs Greg’s help choosing one for his mother. It’ll be Jill’s first time meeting her boyfriend’s mother, and she’s understandably nervous.

Turns out Jill isn’t the only one having feelings about mothers. Kyle, who works at the antiques store next door, needs to find the perfect card for a mother he hasn’t seen since he was five—when she went away to jail. But her arrival in South Cove isn’t exactly celebratory, her behavior toward her son unexpectedly restrained. Piqued, Jill discovers that a mother can never be replaced...

5 Stars

When I saw this title was coming out, I was so excited. I love the Tourist Trap mysteries. It was then I realized it was only a 75 page novella with no dead body! I wanted it to be longer but I will take what I can get. I believe Lynn said the next book won’t come out until November!

This story centers around Kyle who is the assistant to Josh Thomas, the antiques dealer. It focuses on his search for his birth mother and how Jill and boyfriend Greg step in to help him find the truth to a mystery surrounding who Kyle’s mom actually is.

Even though there was no dead body, I thought this was a great peek into the series and will give newbie’s a taste of what to expect when taking a gander into the goings on in South Cove.

A definite recommendation for the author and the series. Check it out!

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.
