The Idaho State Fair is in full swing and chefs are lining up to enter Boise’s Best Restaurant contest, including Angie and her County Seat crew. They might be the hometown favorite, but the competition is steeper than a funhouse floor. This is the fourth book in the Farm-to-Fork mystery series by Lynn Cahoon.
Angie Turner has a lot on her plate in this latest installment. She is not only participating in the restaurant wars Best Restaurant culinary challenge put on by the State Fair but dives into the mystery when one of the cooks in the competition is killed.
I really enjoyed the play between Angie and Ian in this one. It felt more real and more poignant this time around. Definitely one of my favorite books in the series, for sure!
I was surprised there wasn’t more of the restaurant wars stuff but that really did take a backseat to all the fair festivities, the bad guys and the craziness going on all around them.
It was a really fun ride and will definitely make readers want to read all the previous books in the Farm-to-Fork series. The action never stopped and I wasn’t bored one iota. It was edge-of-my-seat thrills all the way through. Can’t wait for book five!
I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.
