Goodreads synopsis: Welcome to Wayward Pines, population 461. Nestled amidst picture-perfect mountains, the idyllic town is a modern-day Eden...except for the electrified fence and razor wire, snipers scoping everything 24/7, and the relentless surveillance tracking each word and gesture. Ethan Burke has seen the world beyond. He’s sheriff, and one of the few who knows the truth—Wayward Pines isn’t just a town. And what lies on the other side of the fence is a nightmare beyond anyone’s imagining.
I started this book wondering where the story would go from the end of PINES. And now that I'm at the end of WAYWARD, I wonder where it could go from here.
This is just an outstanding book. I truly enjoyed reading it. It was a definite page-turner. The text flows well. The characters are easy to distinguish from one another and the concept is just so out of this world that you can't help but think something like this could happen some day.
I like how the author still manages to keep some big reveals to himself. The last few pages of the book.... don't skip them. A must read thriller.
