Revlon Colorstay Eyeshadow Quad in Decadent

I haven't been straying much from a natural neutral look this week. I have been going back to a new quad that I bought from Revlon ColorStay eyeshadow called Decadent. It is just a lovely peachy tone with a matte dark brown and a cream shadow plus another peach that works really well in the crease. I only wish there was a medium tan shade that was a bit darker than that peach then this would be the perfect quad for me.

I have been enjoying a few jumbo eye pencils from NYX and CoverGirl. NYX has such a great color selection but I truly love the color Rust, Sparkling Nude and Cashmere. Plus Covergirl eye pencils in pink and bronze. Just lovely stuff. And you can use these alone or with eyeshadow. Add to that my 24 Hour Color Tattoo cream eyeshadow by Maybelline in Barely Branded and my look this week is complete.

Nail polishes of the week have been Vintage Rose and Captivate. Just great fall/winter colors. And I am not one to wear red polish but this is a warm red that I don't feel glares on my nails.

Lipstick has been either Fergie Daily or Bebot Love. Both are neutral lipsticks. Fergie Daily is a straight nude lipstick and Bebot Love is a bit darker but not so dark that it looks unusual on the lip. I don't know if I could ever pull off a true dark lipstick.

All in all, it's been a pretty simple week. But I'd love to know what you are loving this week. Let me know.

Eyeshadow of the Day - Friday Edition

Today it is a @BH Cosmetics kinda day. I am using the 88 Neutral palette (palette on left) for the matte colors in my crease. I do not prefer to put shiny, shimmery colors in my crease or on my brow bone, so this palette has very little shimmer and works wonderfully for me.

The Galaxy Chic palette is the one I used for my lid color. (I used the pink on the far right of the top row called Comet, I think)

I also had a bit of vibrant pink matte tone from my LA Colors quint in the palette called Wildflowers to warm up my brow bone a bit. (No, it wasn't a shocking pink. I used it in a sheer fashion.)

You can find these wonderful palettes at www.bhcosmetics.com or they are also available on www.amazon.com . LA Colors can be found at your local Dollar General or at their website www.lacolors.com

Eyeshadow of the Day

I post this sort of thing most days on my Facebook page but I thought I'd start adding it here as well.

Today's eyeshadows are pretty natural. A real peaches and cream look. I used the Lorac Behind the scenes eye primer that came as a sample with my Lorac Pro Palette to prime my eyelids. Then on the eyelid I used the NYX Jumbo pencil in Cashmere as just an extra pop of color under my eyeshadow. You can use jumbo eye pencils and cream eyeshadow, like the Maybelline Color Tattoos to use as a primer. And this really makes your eyeshadow truly long wearing. Then I used the peachy shimmer shade from the L'Oreal Color Reiche on my eyelid. It's in the color Good Luck Charm.  And I used the colors in the Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow quad in Decadent as the crease and outer edge color. It's a real peachy neutral look and I love it. Try it out for yourself. Until tomorrow, stay beautiful.

Black Friday Haul continued

I've had a bit of a haul lately. I ordered some Christmas presents from Kohl's.com during their Black Friday sales and discovered that they had many of the makeup palettes that I have been really looking forward to using one day.

Here are a few palettes I bought:

• Lorac Pro Palette
• Lorac Unzipped Palette
• The Balm Nude 'Tude Palette
•  Cargo Vintaqe Escapes Palette
They all have a bit of a neutral-ish tones. And I have used the Cargo palette on Sunday using some of the olive green shades. Then today I used the Nude'tude palette. All these palettes have shadows that are so pigmented that you only have to use a slight bit to make your eyeshadow pop. If you are used to packing on the Covergirl eyeshadow, then you need to make sure you use a light hand with these shadows.

The two Lorac palettes, I know I have used them both once, but I only got all these in last week, and I used one for each day. Plus, I was still obsessed with my Galaxy Chic palette by BH Cosmetics. I didn't think I would be liking these really poppy colors but they are truly appealing to me. Love it.

Last Week's Favorites

Sorry that i missed my last Friday's Favorites. It has been so busy at work and with the roads and snow and ice, I've been a bit of a mess. It's been a bit extra stressful in my berg because of the weather. I dislike driving in the snow especially right after it rains or sleets. My car door freezes shut and so on and so forth. It's not fun for me.

Last week was pretty much more of the same as far as makeup goes. I focused in on my CoverGirl eyeshadow quads mostly in the neutral colors. I think I've discovered from my exploration that I am a neutral warm shadow gal. But I do like the cool neutral shadows too.

I did just receive a few goodies that I bought for myself. Early presents, you know. :) I picked up a slew of things from BH Cosmetics during their Black Friday sale. They were calling them Black Friday Steals. How cute is that? I think I got some good stuff. It is all neat. I've never ordered directly from a cosmetics company before.

Here are the things I got during the Black Friday Steals:

• Special Occasion Eyeshadow palette
• Eyes on the 60's palette
• Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow palette
• BH San Francisco Eyeshadow & Blush palette
• BH Malibu Eyeshadow & Blush palette
• 88 Neutral palette

I know, overkill. But It was a great deal and I will really never need to buy eyeshadow ever again now. I used the Special Occasion palette today. The shimmer shades weren't overly shimmery and I really liked the outcome of my first look with it. I just wish it had more neutral mid toned matte shades too put in the crease. My crease can't handle the really dark, dark tones.

That's all for now. I hope you all had a great weekend last weekend and will have a great week this week.

Stay beautiful ... inside and out.

Sleuthing for favorites --- on a Tuesday!

Hello all you Armchair Beauty Sleuthers!

It's time once again to post about things I am just loving. Now, I know it is not Friday, but there is no one who can't say I can't do a Tuesday Favorites.

Yesterday I picked up a few things from Walgreens. I got the L'Oreal Infallible® 24 HR Eye Shadow in the color Glistening Garnet and L'Oreal HIP Studio Secrets Metallic Duo in the color Charged.

I really love the copper and bronze look for eyeshadows. And this Metallic Duo just fits the bill. It is so fun and flirty, not that I do a lot of flirting. And that Garnet color really goes well with the darker berry shade in the metallic duo. Just loving this look.
Some coppery shades.
My favorite Maybelline quad is Chai Latte. That is because of that coppery brown metallic shade that is just so appealing to me. I love, love, love it.

I have been dying to get some shadows from Makeup Geek or Mac but that is a bit out of my price range. I did pick up some new stuff on Black Friday that I will do a haul about when it finally comes in. It will encompass higher end makeup, well, more mid-level end makeup. I am excited to try these products.

If I ever find myself near an Ulta, I'm definitely going to pick up that Lorac Unzipped palette. That would be an awesome addition to my collection. And the Naked palette, which is like $50 bucks, is something I dream about. And this Urban Decay palette has two sister palettes, Naked2 and Naked3. Plus the Ammo palette looks divine as well. These are things I will get in my dreams. Maybe some day.
CoverGirl's Flamed Out Shadow Pots

I picked up one of the single shadow pots from the Flamed Out collection by Covergirl. It doesn't have a name (on the Covergirl site it is called Red Hot) but it is in a reddish/pinky shimmer that doesn't overwhelm my eyes and I love using it in the crease as a transition color.

Today I am wearing a brownish pinky/rose eye that I am really liking. I just wish my eyes wouldn't water so much. It makes it uber hard to keep eyeliner on. Not that I use a lot, but I tend to rub my eyes and I am trying to get out of that habit.

A few lip colors that I have loved come from Wet N Wild's Fergy collection. Fergy Daily is my favorite shade. It is right up my alley with it's natural, nude look.

Well, that's it for today. I hope you are really loving the makeup in your own collection. Let me know what things you are really going to day after day that makeup your own daily look.
